CAS Breakfast Launch

PGCL  launches their Competency Assurance System at the University of Trinidad and Tobago Pt.Lisas Campus ,Couva

On July 12th 2011,together with specially invited guests, companies, tertiary institutions,employees, World ICU Canada, and PLA Consultancy Services, PGCL  launched their Competency Assurance System at the University of Trinidad and Tobago Pt.Lisas Campus ,Couva.

The first group of employees who were assessed in the area of Electrical & Instrumentation as well as Hydrostatic Testing, were awarded their competency certificates in both fields. The Management of Phillips General Contracting Limited also recognised the employees who received high evaluation scores, in Hydrostatic Testing and Electrical & Instrumentation activities.

Addressing all present, the Managing Director ,Mr.Junior Phillips, acknowledged all who contributed to the making the event successful and encouraged all companies to focus on Workforce Assessment in their organisations.

In keeping with its thrust to be  strategically  competitive within the  energy sector,  PGCL  has perceived the need for developing the capability of its site personnel to international competency levels.  This capability  embraces both  the technical, behavioral  and critical safety tasks associated with E/I and Hydrostatic Testing activities  which are necessary for optimal efficiency in the CAS  role. The development of these capabilities will serve to enhance PGCL’s overall operational efficiency and on par with its regional counterparts.

The event followed the Assessor Training Program conducted by Dr. Mark Kolodziej ,President of the World ICU Cananda.
